The annual Borlaug Memorial Lecture commemorates the contributions University of Minnesota alumnus Dr. Norman Borlaug made to fighting world hunger and celebrates those who follow in Dr. Borlaug's footsteps. 

The 18th Annual Borlaug Memorial Lecture will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 3:30 PM CT on the University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus.  RSVP to attend in person or join via zoom.

Today is Norman Borlaug Day in Minnesota!

Since 2004, our governor proclaimed one day a year to be Norman E. Borlaug Day in the state. This year, Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz declared October 16 Norman E. Borlaug Day, so we honor his legacy today and in the years going forward. 

Honoring and Recognizing World Food Day and Norman E. Borlaug Day

We celebrate the farmers and researchers that have brought us the food we have today and raise awareness to those who are less fortunate in our own communities and around the world in an effort to continue the fight against global hunger. 

Congratulations to Mary Rogers, our 2021 Emerging Leader in Plant Sciences!

The 2021 BML Planning Committee is exhilarated to announce that this year's Emerging Leader in Plant Sciences (ELIPS) award goes to Dr. Mary Rogers, 2003 Environmental Horticulture BS as well as 2008 Entomology MS alumnus and current Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticultural Science here at the University of Minnesota.
